Meet the President of the Company, Jason Blanchet RRT

You might say Jason Blanchet grew up in the sleep business. After becoming a Respiratory Therapist in 1999 at age 19, Jason decided to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders and Speech at Plattsburgh State University. Upon graduating from Plattsburgh in 2001, Jason began working in the respiratory equipment industry. He developed an affinity for business with a particular interest in developing a more user-friendly delivery model for sleep apnea equipment.

As an MBA student at St. Bonaventure University, Jason was part of a group of students who wrote a business plan for a chain of retail sleep apnea equipment stores. The plan became a reality in 2007 with the opening of the first C-PAP Xpress store in Williamsville NY. The store was the first of its kind and has since served over 30,000 CPAP users. An ownership change prompted Jason to take the concept to Columbus, Ohio in partnership with Dasco Home Medical Equipment.

The C-PAP Central brand was launched in 2012. There are currently C-PAP Central stores in Columbus, Ohio and Louisville, Kentucky. While at C-PAP Xpress, the business began servicing several of the NY State Prisons for CPAP equipment. Upon his departure, the incoming owner decided they were not interested in servicing correctional facilities. This prompted Jason to start the C-PAP Department.

In 2014, After several years of working with NYSDOCCS, Jason proposed eliminating outside trips for sleep studies by bringing remote testing services on-site to the prisons. What started as a pilot project has grown into a statewide program servicing 50 state prison facilities. The quality care and cost savings have proven to be a valuable asset to NYSDOCCS over the past decade.

More recently, Jason began his pursuit of the necessary training to become a nurse practitioner. This additional training will allow Jason to assist patients in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders, making the C-PAP Department even more well rounded.
